Inflammation Test Panel

The Inflammation Blood Test Panel is designed to detect hidden inflammation in the body that can contribute to chronic disease, pain, fatigue, and cardiovascular risk. This panel provides an in-depth evaluation of key inflammatory markers, helping you and your healthcare provider understand the presence and potential sources of inflammation.

What’s Included:

C-Reactive Protein (CRP), High-Sensitivity (hs-CRP)

  • CRP is a protein produced by the liver in response to inflammation.

  • The high-sensitivity CRP (hs-CRP) test detects even very low levels of inflammation, which can signal early risk for heart disease, autoimmune diseases, and chronic inflammatory conditions.

  • CRP levels help categorize cardiovascular risk:

  •   - Low Risk: <1.0 mg/L

  •   - Average Risk: 1.0–3.0 mg/L

  •   - High Risk: >3.0 mg/L

  • Elevated hs-CRP can also occur with sleep apnea, rheumatoid arthritis, colon cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and other systemic conditions.

CPK – Creatine Kinase (Creatine Phosphokinase)

  • CPK is an enzyme found in heart, brain, and skeletal muscle.

  • High CPK levels can indicate:

  •   - Muscle inflammation or injury

  •   - Heart attacks

  •   - Neurological issues affecting the central nervous system

Ferritin

  • Ferritin measures your body's iron storage.

  • While low ferritin can indicate iron deficiency, elevated ferritin can reflect inflammation, obesity, or chronic disease even without iron overload.

Homocysteine

  • Homocysteine is an amino acid linked to blood vessel health.

  • Elevated homocysteine levels can damage blood vessels, promote plaque buildup (atherosclerosis), and increase the risk of:

  •   - Heart attacks

  •   - Strokes

  •   - Blood clots

Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH)

  • LDH is an enzyme involved in energy production found throughout the body.

  • Elevated LDH may indicate tissue damage due to:

  •   - Anemia

  •   - Infection

  •   - Kidney, liver, lung, or muscle disease

  •   - Sepsis or cancers

  • Helps detect widespread inflammation or cell injury.

Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) by Westergren

  • ESR measures how quickly red blood cells settle at the bottom of a test tube.

  • A faster-than-normal rate suggests inflammation somewhere in the body.

  • It’s commonly used to help diagnose or monitor inflammatory conditions like arthritis, vasculitis, infections, or autoimmune diseases.

Why Is This Test Important?

Inflammation often develops silently, without obvious symptoms — yet it can be a major contributor to serious illnesses such as heart disease, stroke, autoimmune diseases, and chronic fatigue syndromes.

Early detection allows for preventive care, better disease management, and healthier long-term outcomes.

The Inflammation Blood Test Panel offers a powerful way to uncover hidden health risks before they lead to serious complications.
